So I never update Xanga anymore.  But I was scrolling down looking at my blog and saw the Obama national anthem...which reminds me.  Here is a funny Obama video that anyone can appreciate(I think).  It's a spoof on the hip-hop song "Whatever You Like."  This guy does such an awesome job as Obama.   Maybe I'm just easily amused.  *shrug*  That's okay.

    Truckin' through the semester

Soo...the semester has been pretty good thus far.  It's been a little stressful recently, but other than that, not bad.  I'm actually getting to teach for my Ed classes, which is cool.  I teach Creative Writing to a class of third graders every Friday for an hour.  This week, we're learning some of the story elements and making story stew!  hehe  I'm so cheesy.  I'm going to wear an apron and take my big bowl and spoon and pull all of the elements out.    Last week we did sensory details, which I don't think they were quite ready for.  Anyway, I will ideally be graduating next spring.  Well, ideally I might have been graduating this spring.  haha  But that's okay.  I've started a Bible study for young women, which has been cool because I've had the opportunity to talk about spiritual things with other girls around my age.  I need to work on my organizational skills, though, and get the schedule and stuff out about a month ahead of time.  If anyone is interested in coming, let me know.  We were supposed to be watching and doing a study on Fireproof tonight at my house, but then I got sick so that didn't happen.  And Fireproof is awesome, btw.  Oh, as for Valentine's day, I got all fancied up and went out to dinner, which was nice.  Getting ready was a little hectic, though, and it didn't help when I realized at the last moment that my family had accidentally eaten Rob's candy.  I mean, they didn't eat it accidentally, but...it's a long story.  haha  *shakes head*  I want my main focuses now to be on my spiritual life, school, the little work I do at the Y, Rob and my friends, and the Bible study.  More than that, and I'm going to be spread far too thin.  I hope everyone's semester is going okay so far, and just think, spring break isn't all that far away.

  • Not white, but good :-)

Christmas was goood.  Last night, I went to my grandma's, then to the Christmas Eve service at SPBC with my mom, Arliss, and Rob, and then to his parents' house. Then I came home and did the advent wreath with my family. Today, I opened presents, played with Christian, played Rock Band(which Arliss was very happy about getting), saw Rob, visited my grandparents, watched a documentary I got, and started reading the book So Much More.  It is such an awesome coincidence(if there is such a thing) that my mom got it for me, and I'm so excited about reading it.  (It's highly recommended by Ladies Against Feminism.)  A couple of the cool things I got were a digital camera(again!) and a Bible dictionary with Greek and Hebrew words the English words were translated from(coolness).  Rob and I exchanged gifts earlier today, then he went to his parents', then came back and we played Rock Band with Arliss. He liked his presents, which I was happy about.  He was pretty excited and surprised about Khet.  And I was surprised by his present to me:  a white gold cross necklace with diamonds embedded in it.  It's pretty, and there's a picture below that you can see it kind of tiny in.

  • Merry Christmas!

Break is beautiful.  Course, I'm working, so I really don't think about being on "break" a lot, but it's still very nice compared to being in school.  Santa came to the daycare today, so that was interesting.  I don't think any of our two, three, or four year olds cried...impressive.  It's almost Christmas, only one day!!  It's going to be very exciting.  Rob's coming over in the late morning to exchange presents. : )  One of the most exciting parts about Christmas morning is giving my brother Arliss his presents, bc he's the most fun to shop for.  Making him happy makes me happy.  And I'm excited about giving Rob his, too.  I hope you all have a very merry Christmas!

I've liked this site for years and years, but lately I've started getting back into it.
